Entry for April 2, 2007
Well, spring has sprung. The plants are beginning to wake up, as have the weeds. A couple of hummingbirds were flying around the Shakespearian garden looking for their sugar water Sunday afternoon. The plants shelves are beginning to fill out, and we are filling the greenhouse with baby plants. We are excited about some of the new lavenders as well as the new basils! The work on the back of the Herbary is underway. The pond actually had two visitors the other morning, a pair of mallards! We still need to harvest some more rock from up on Mt. Hood to create the waterfall as soon as the snow melts a bit more. There is talk of putting in another greenhouse as well as barn in the next few months. We hope this finds you out in your garden, happy, healthy and of course with a green thumb! 2007-04-03 04:00:12 GMT

Great job on the web site Heather. I have to add that there were four wood ducks on the new pond this morning. The sand hill cranes are posturing and trying to choose a new mate, and the geese are preparing to fly south. The herbary resounds with the sounds of the island birds.
