Entry for April 20, 2008
What a wild couple weeks!
We had a couple of wonderful couple weeks in Febuary. March rolled in, and was typical spring weather. Then last weekend it was in the 70's and then this past weekend, it was FREEZING! There were little piles of hail mixed in with the thyme and rosemary. Despite the wild weather, the herbary is coming alive. We worked on clearing the bed back by the chicken coop - the pink and white bed. The bandstand had a lot of little weeds inbetween the bricks. The weather was sunny, and chilly. Sitting on the patio in the sun, it actually got pretty warm. I decided to let the little chickens out to enjoy the sun. The little buffs were out first, and finally a few Marens and the mystery white chicken came out to see the world. We think one of the Marens may be a rooseter! He is quite handsome, and struts around looking like a big ol rooster. They are growing like weeds. We have been working on our load of mulch. It has been slow going, not much fun working in the garden when its freezing and raining outside! Hopefully the weather will warm up, and we will see you all soon! 2008-04-21 05:02:49 GMT
