Well the cherry tree is about done, all that is left is the stump. Rob, my neighbor three doors down came down to cut the tree. It was pretty impressive, or he was really lucky with his aim! All the branches came down without harming the little peach and apple trees. You can already see the improvement in the lawn.  A local guy on the island is a glass artist. James came down to help with clean up and loading some of the logs in exchange for some prime pieces of cherry. He wanted the logs to be about 2 feet long, so he can form molds. It was great to have his help!  It turns out that he also does chainsaw sculptures - so Rob and I think we should ask him to create something on the stump. (okay, maybe we just didn't want to cut it down, but how cool would that be???)

I am currently working out in the back. The lavender we planted last spring is looking really good! Should be a good crop this year!
