Entry for May 18, 2008 ![]() Nothing like a little snooze time in the sun. Mike was caught catching some Zzzz's a few days ago. Of course this weekend, he was busy as a bee working and watering the plants. The heat hit hard here on Sauvies Island, I can only imagine how hot it was in the city.
The plants weren't all that happy with the blazing sun. A few Italian Parsely and a handful of others perished in the heat, just too much for their little four inch homes. I don't think it has ever been this hot in May. We usually have a lot of protection from the sun because of the Walnut tree, but not this past weekend. The leaves are just barely coming on, but it should be leafed out by the time the next heat waves arrives. I must admit I was probably watering myself as much if not more than the plants. If only the island didn't have such funky water, I would set up a heck of an automatic watering system. Instead, we take turns as the sprinkler, but I can't complain, there are a lot worse jobs out there! 2008-05-19 05:20:23 GMT
