Entry for March 31, 2008 ![]() BABY CHICKS... oh so very exciting! We are pretty excited for the day these little babies lay some eggs! We should have quite the array of colors! The yellow colored ones should lay light brown eggs. They also have feathers on their feet. They are called Salmon Flaverolle. The tan one in the fore front lays tan colored eggs, and are Buff Sextons. The little one in the middle is an Araucana and lays blue/green eggs. The black headed one in the upper right hand corner, well that is a Maren - and they lay DARK CHOCOLATE BROWN eggs... bummer they aren't really chocolate eggs, or my neice Gia would eat them all up! All I know is that there isn't any much cutie than fluffy baby chicks... well until the next week when they start to get feathers, then they are sorta ugly.
